larp, taking a holiday from everydayness
this photography project consists of portraits of larp players in belgium and the netherlands. larp (live action role playing) is a role playing game in which the competitors choose a character which they act out in a fictional setting. the character may be entirely fantasized, or it may be inspired by films, books or games. the style varies from historical events to fantasy and futuristic scenes. the competitors transform themselves into vampires, super heroes, elfs or warriors and move either in our own world, in a darker version of our lives, or even in space. the exhibition includes photos of twenty larp players in their character outfits in their own domestic flemish and dutch interiors.
